Ramadan’s Tarsheed Series: Raising Awareness for Sustainable Development in Qatar

Red Dot Films has recently completed an exciting project for Tarsheed, a department in Kahramaa focused on raising awareness about water and energy conservation, as well as sustainable development.

Tarsheed animated Series consists of 12 episodes, each addressing a topic related to water or energy conservation or sustainable development, aims to raise public awareness and promote sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The topics range from avoiding waste of water, proper use of air conditioning, sustainable irrigation methods, and benefits of solar panels to recycling and reusing of metals, avoiding using drinkable water for washing, outdoor lighting wastage, benefits of electric cars, water-saving faucets, reuse of plastic bottles, reuse of greywater, and sustainability in vernacular houses.

The series features Tarsheed characters Qatora, Moafer, Kahroob, Hayat, and Nabd, who provide valuable tips to the public on these crucial topics.

Fatima Alshoroqi, Huda Mohamed, Samah Aboalez, Hasan Mandani, Mohamed Adel, and Naser Habeb lent their voices to the characters, bringing their personalities and quirks to life.

The actors and actresses involved in the project are highly experienced in theatre, TV, radio, and puppet theatre, and their expertise was evident in the quality of their voice acting. Their passion and dedication to the project were instrumental in creating a successful and impactful series that reached a wide audience.

Rashid is a new character Red Dot created and his voice was performed by Abdulla Alhamadi, a child with great ambition and who hopes to become a professional in acting. His excellent performance added an extra layer of authenticity and charm to the series.

The success of the Tarsheed Series can be attributed to the expertise of Yousif Al Hamadi, the Executive Producer of the project and Creative Head of Red Dot Films, who led the production of the series. Yousif has a degree in Sustainable Cities of Muslim Societies from HBKU. He is well-versed in producing animation series that cater to various sectors in Qatar.

Throughout the production of the Tarsheed Series, Yousif and his team at Red Dot Films worked closely with the management of Tarsheed to ensure that the series met the department’s goals and requirements.

The series also included a competition element, encouraging viewers to participate by answering questions related to the themes of the episodes through SMS messages to Ooredoo and Vodafone. This was done to engage the audience further and encourage them to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The Tarsheed Series has already been aired on Qatar TV during Ramadan, and the response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive. They were also available on Tarsheed social media accounts, allowing a broader audience to access the valuable information and tips provided in the series.
